According to the official Nintendo E3 website, it seems that Nintendo are planning some surprises at their Treehouse Live Stream at E3 2017.
For years now Nintendo have foregone the usual press presentations at E3 for a pre-recorded Nintendo Direct, followed by their informal Treehouse Live where games are streamed live for all to watch.
Usually Treehouse Live is merely to get a closer look at already-announced games, although that changed last year with the announcement of two new titles: Ever Oasis and Mario Party Star Rush. To top it off, Rhythm Heaven Megamix launched on the 3DS eshop on the final day of the event.
It seems Nintendo want to keep the surprises coming this year. To quote their site:
“Stay tuned after the Nintendo Spotlight, as the experts from Treehouse play through upcoming games for Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo 3DS family of systems, show behind-the-scenes info, and maybe even share some surprises.”
With the Switch being the main focus of this year’s E3, it stands to reason Treehouse Live is potentially going to be used to announce some new Switch games. Only time will tell.
Nintendo’s activities at E3 kick off on 13 June, where it has been confirmed there will be a closer look at Super Mario Odyssey, and tournaments for ARMS and Splatoon 2. We wrote in detail about their E3 plans here.
